Disability Plan
About your short term Disability Benefits
When you are disabled, the C S A L C Disability Plan can make it easier to cover your basic living expenses for several important reasons.
Life insurance contributes to your family's income in the event of death, but what ha.ppens when an illness or injury prevents you from working? How would you manage without a paycheck for several months, or even years?
It's easy to say, "It won't happen to me." But before you do, consider this:
- First it's generally easier to qualify for disability benefits under CUL's plan than under Social Security or your retirement plan. And CUL does not require that your disability be expected to continue for twelve months or more in order to qualify.
- Second, even if you do qualify for Social Security or disability retirement benefits, you may find that the benefits simply are not enough to cover your bills. If so, it would be comforting to know that you could receive extra income month after month from CUL.
- Third, C.S.A.L.C. Disability Plan will replace up to 60% of your gross annual salary, "tax free".
The C.S.A.L.C. Disability Plan is designed to let you choose how much disability income you need. This plan replaces up to 60% of your regular pay to a maximum benefit payment of $2000 a month. Tax-free benefit payments begin after you've been totally disabled for fourteen days ("elimination period").
